Despite various States spasmodically in and out of Covid lockdowns, the majority of commercial property asset classes are continuing to display resilience and maintaining their forward value trajectory. Appetite for A-grade buildings is extremely active with investors obviously trusting that there is future upside. This positivity is demonstrated by recent large transactions such as EG Fund’s $450m North Sydney and CBD portfolio purchase, the $270m part purchase of the Myer Melbourne building and the $145m purchase of the Icon building in Ipswich. Development Ready’s recent Adelaide Oval, electronic signage promotion during the AFL’s Port Adelaide v Melbourne match has certainly generated a high level of conversation and awareness around town.
